Don't Just Get Big...
Get Fast!
So, you lifted heavy this off season and you can rep out a dozen squats with four plates on the bar. Your bench is now a respectable 440lbs. Your abs look like a washboard, and you come into camp bigger and in better shape. So what?
One of the biggest problems that encounters a football player is the above scenario. A great off season of training and super gains. We treat football players from every level of the game. Its the same story. We ask, "Now that you have worked out in the off season and gained mass, size, and strength, what have you done to turn that new size, mass and strength into speed and power?"
We usually get the same answer. "What do you mean?" Increased mass and size will make you slower. What gains you've made in strength and size involve the building of the slow twitch fibers of your musculature. A good strength and speed coach knows that there comes a time to come off of the heavy weights and now train the body to respond with power and speed. This involves the fast twitch fibers of your muscles.
Our great experience with the fastest track athletes in the world allowed us to develop a reputation that leads football players to our office before NFL Combines. Running a consistant 4.3 will get you invited to many camps, as well as, raise your salary potential.
