SCIATICA:

The worse pain you can have!

PROFESSIONAL EFFECTIVE TREATMENT

Professional treatment is necessary if sciatic pain has had the opportunity to set into your body or if it is a condition that keeps returning. We have discovered treatment protocols to break the body’s patterns of compensation, as well as, keep it from reoccurring. Specialized Deep Tissue Therapy to break patterns of compensations and trigger points in conjunction with Chiropractic manipulations restore proper body balance and function.  Instruction and therapeutic exercises along with proper stretches help to restore proper function of the low back and hip girdle which help minimize the effects of a returning sciatic attack.  In many cases the immediate proper treatment at first sign of a sciatic attack can abort, minimize or tremendously shorten the healing time of such a reoccurrence.

WORST PAIN CONDITION

Sciatic pain has been described by our patients as one of the worst pains ever experienced.  Once the Sciatic nerve is irritated the resulting symptoms range from numbness, tingling, soreness, and sharp pains.  The most telling symptom of sciatica is the nagging pain that radiates along the sciatic nerve from the buttocks to the foot.  If you have ever been awakened from a good nights sleep with tingling, throbbing, or unexplained muscle soreness in the buttocks, groin, thigh, or lower leg, you’ve had experienced sciatic pain!

WHY IT HURTS
Since the SCIATIC NERVE is made up of five nerves that leave the protection of the spinal cord at the low back/pelvic  region where they converge,  the nerves are protected by the thick and deeper muscles of the hips and buttocks. From here they divide and reach the muscles and joints that they control in the thigh, knee, calf, ankle, feet, and toes.
Since the sciatic nerve runs through and under some of the deep muscles in the low back and hips, it is easy to understand why, when the sciatic nerve is irritated, it can produce severe stiffness and pain in the regions of the low back, hips, and buttocks.  This guarding mechanism helps protect the body from receiving more discomfort and pain.

WHY SCIATIC PAIN IS CHRONIC?
Unfortunately, guarding or compensating muscles continue in a protective spasm well after the sciatic condition has subsided. This puts stress on body parts and muscle groups that are otherwise not constantly active.  This will cause swelling in the same region that was originally irritated causing further swelling including further sciatic irritation!  This swelling again pressures the sciatic nerve, thus setting the cycle of sciatic pain in motion again.  This is why people who suffer sciatic pain continue to get relapses. Does this cycle sound like anybody you know?  If so, tell them about the successful solutions we have to offer.
